I established my dressmaking and alterations business in 2000 after custom making a wedding dress for a close friend. I began specialising in bridal alterations for a Bournemouth wedding Boutique, which was an amazing experience, then set up my own alterations business a couple of years later when I moved to Berkshire, (I did some freelance work for an Eton tailor, usually women's wear) and eventually returned to my hometown in 2005 and concentrated on alterations. The business is almost 25 years old, but my interest in many forms of craft goes back to my early childhood and I am now introducing a range of hand crafted items in my Crafty Eclectics range.
